Cold

Walking the april side walks kaleb never thought he'd feel such a chill in the middle of such a beautiful spring day,his heart and soul felt cold,and the kid basicly had nowhere to turn anymore.

Standing out like a sore thumb his black clothes rained upon him,even in westport hewas seen as a freak,felt great to him,but he had to admitt,it gets lonely..

Bumping into her he looked into her eyes,feeling something he had never felt before,she was beautiful..

Kitt looked up at who bumped into her and blinked, "Um, hello?" She noticed that he was staring at her, she felt embarrassed, she didn't like people staring at her to begin with at all, and he was only making the problem worse.

Kaleb looked down,"uh im sorry,i wasn't paying attention..i do that alot..."

He laughed a bit,and started to help her pick up her sketches she dropped,his hand touched hers and he said his sorrys again,while looking at her pictures.
"these are really good.."

His eyes were fixed on one,a heart in a box being sold by the man who used to own it,atleast it looked that way by the scar on his chest..

Kitt blushed and looked down at her drawing that he was holding, "You can keep that one if you like." Her voice was soft almost inaudible. "I think I have a copy of it at home." She looked back up at him.

"wow really?,thanx,thanx alot",he smiled,"the names Kaleb,i din't catch yours"

He smiled and looked at her studying her face.

"My name is Kitt or Kitty." She took the papers from him and looked back up at him. The sun was on her face which only made her many freckles stand out more. "It's nice to meet you." She smiled and moved a piece of hair out of her face.

"same here,ya know whats funny i was just thinking about how such a sunny day seemed so gloomy,i guess i just needed someone to talk to.."

He looked down a bit,his long sleeves looked dreadful under the sun,but hey whatever covers a wound right?

"well uh im sure im just bothering u,so sorry again kitty..see ya around maybe.."

"No you're not bothering me" Kitt covered her mouth a bit and giggled. "Please, stay."

"hey whats funny?",he smiled.

"u laughin at me kid?"he smirked and laughed a bit,her smile seemed to light his face up,he din't know what was happening,could he really be crushing on a girl?.

"You are. You think you're bothering me. Which realistically it should be me bothering you." She smiled at him and kept her hand near her mouth slightly covering up her smile.

Kaleb smiled,"alot of people bother me but ur kool"he looked into her eyes with a slight smile,"and i dun understand why u cover up such a beautiful smile.."

"now me i have sumtin to cover up"he laughed,"what are u doin around here all alone anway?,shouldn't u be hangin on to some guy?,makin him think about how lucky he is?"

He laughed a bt and smirked.

"A guy? Oh no. I'm single." Kitt laughed looking at him with one eyebrow raised, "They find me too clingy and annoying."

Kaleb laughed,"maybe i just havn't known u long enough,u seem fine to me,most guys just wanna get in girls pants,thats why they find them annoying,i hate guys like that,i like talking to the person i like and spending time with them"

He smiled a bit,"so u have no bf because guys are just dumb creatures"

Kitt laughed, "You don't have to tell me that twice. But I like you, you're nice."

"i try"he laughed,"nah im a nice kid,i can't say i have many friends,infact now that i think about it,i don't have any"

He laughed a little but deep down it hurt,why couldn't he just be normal,A sigh left his lips,"im sure u have lots of friends tho,ur pretty awesome,atleast as far as ive seen.."

"No not really. I'm too shy, I don't really talk to anyone." She touched his arm, "I don't see why you don't have alot of friends, you're so nice and good looking too." Kitt winked and laughed.

Kaleb looked down and flinched,he din't answer her,his arm was hurt so bad,not only had syn beat the crap out of him but he din't act to kindly to himself.

"i..i gotta go kitt..im sorry.."he looked at her with pain in his eyes.

Kitt saw his eyes and she bit her bottom lip, "Oh no, did I hurt you?" she touched him gently and pulled up his sleeve a bit, she saw the bruises. "Oh no.."

He looked away ashamed,"im sorry,u probly think im just stupid now..im sorry for even bumping into u.."he started to turn away from her,he wanted to cry,he was ashamed of himself,but cutting made him feel better,it made him feel control for once..

"look kitt i dun want u involved with me..i dun want u to worry about this.."

Kitt put her hand on his shoulder gently, "I don't think your stupid. I think you need a friend. And I would like to be your friend." her voice was soft.

He turned and looked at her,"u mean that?..",tears were in his voice but he refused to let them fall,he looked into her eyes.

Seeing she was senceir he just hugged her,"i dun understand why u care,no one else does,so why u?.."

He looked at her once more this time not letting his eyes let go of her's

She smiled at him, "Because I know how you feel."

"u..u do this too?..or u just lonely?"his eyes starred into her's,she was beautiful,he couldn't believe someone as beautiful as her could be so lonely,were guys really that stupid to pass her up?..

"u uh wanna chill at my place later or something?.."

Kitt giggled and smiled up at him her eyes shining, "Yes! Of course. That would be so much fun."

Kaleb smiled,"westport is now my new favorite spot",he laughed,"my house isn't that far away,care to just walk?"

He looked over at her as they walked beside each other,and for once thoughts of anything bad seemed to have left his head..

Kitt looked at him, "So, why do you do it?" She knew she probably shouldn't have asked, but she wanted to know.

And all of a suden they flooded back,he sighed,"well..i uh..i do it because im lonely,and im beat..,and no one really cares,so i mean u start to feel like ur not alive..its almost like a stuffed animal,when they first get u,ur loved,then months go by and they start beating the crap out of u and say its to show love,then leave u sitting there alone with cotton hanging out of u..dumb way of puttin it yeah but thats how it feels.."

He looked down,"i guess it makes me feel alive when nothing else seems to..kinda like i need to see blood to kno im human.."

Kitt felt sorry for him, she didn't know what to say. She hugged him, "Kaleb...I'm sorry."

"oh dun be sorry kitt..i choose to do this to myself,i just,i can't stop sometimes.."

He started walking beside her again,he laughed a bit,"if we din't look emo enough,we sure do now",he smiled and laughed.

Soon Getting home,he walked thru the gate and up the stone side walk,their house was very decrotive on the outside japenese style gardens.

He smiled walking past the little fountains and things,they made him think of somewhere else..

Kitt looked around, "Oh wow, this is beautiful." Her face lit up when she saw the fountains. "They're so pretty!" she squealed.
